KOH Chapter 510

Chapter 510 Everyone’s Angry, Hard To Offend

Everyone’s angry shouts soon starting filling the large hall.

Hexi merely coldly looked on, but didn’t speak. She looked like she was merely an observer that had nothing to do with the situation.

Suddenly, a slender youth squeezed out from the crowd. He stared Hexi down with a face full of killing intent, “I didn’t expect that my Nalan family’s Elder was actually killed by you. What hatred do you have with my Nalan family for you to so maliciously kill him?”

This youth seemed to be around the same age was Nalan Hexi.

His appearance was elegant and he even seemed to hold some resemblance to Nalan Zhengze.

And Jing Ling country’s Prince Shangguan Qi, who had been silently standing in the crowd all along, suddenly slowly walked up to this youth’s side. He patted his shoulder and tried placating him, “Ziyun, you can feel assured. Father Emperor will definitely get revenge for Third Brother and your Nalan family.”

Ziyun? Nalan Ziyun? It was the original Nalan Hexi’s twin “(younger) brother”. Hexi faced the youth, whose face really resembled Nalan Zhengze’s, and a gloomy light flashed through her eyes.

The Crown Prince faintly looked around and sneered, “This brute who completely lacks humanity was let off by us once. But everyone here won’t let him off a second time, isn’t that right?”

Immediately, someone loudly agreed, “The Crown Prince is right, such a person can’t be let off.”

“Take his life for murdering someone! Take his life for murdering someone!”

Feng Yunjing, who had been silently sitting to the side the entire time, looked at the turbulent circumstances in the hall and a faint smile appeared on his lips.

This public trial had been suggested by Shen Sen himself and now it had escalated to this degree. Even if the Shen family was powerful, it was hard to offend everyone when they were angry. They definitely wouldn’t protect some insignificant martial artist who was just at Foundation Establishment stage if it was at th cost of their Qing Xia Sect’s reputation. Doing so would turn them into the public’s enemy.

And Xi Yue was destined to become an assassin. He would only be able to plead for asylum, there wouldn’t be another alternative.

Feng Yunjing’s gaze landed on Shen Sen, who was sitting opposite to him, and he faintly smiled, “Elder Shen, this public trial was first brought up by you. Now all the evidence has been laid out and the trial’s outcome has been determined, what other words does Elder Shen have to say now?”

Shen Sen’s face also became extremely unsightly.

He always felt this whole affair was odd, but now, everything was pointing toward Xi Yue. If he continued to protect Xi Yue, he was afraid that Qing Xia Sect would be pulled into the waters.

Although Shen Sen didn’t speak, Shen Qingchuo anxiously blurt out everything in her heart, “Your so-called evidence is all one-sided. You guys have so many people while Xi Yue is all alone, he definitely can’t out-speak you guys. If you guys are able to, then bring out decisive evidence!”

When Feng Lian Ying saw that they had gotten to this step and Shen Qingchuo was still defending him, her gaze toward Hexi became filled with even more hatred.

This shameless youth only goes around fooling around with people. Even if he seduced Yu gege, it’s whatever. Now, he actually was able to seduce Qing Xia Sect’s most beloved person. What was this sl** worth?

Feng Lian Ying deeply breathed in before painting on her most tender and friendly expression. She faced Shen Qingchuo and said, “Chuo’er meimei, the facts are all laid out here. You don’t need to believe such lies anymore.”

Without a second thought, Shen Qingchuo immediately replied, “Because Xi gongzi is a good person, he saved my life!”

Shen Qingchuo was still young and her mind was pure. She completely missed the fact that Feng Lian Ying was encouraging her to talk.

KOH Chapter 509

Chapter 509 Kill Him!

The guard’s mouth hardened and he continued to say, “Once we got the antidote, naturally we assumed it was real, so we completely swallowed it. At the beginning, we somewhat improved. But, we never thought that bad symptoms would soon show up.”

“The Third Prince had the worst end of the stick. After swallowing the antidote, a long time passed before his entire body unexpectedly burst open and he turned into a puddle of watery blood.”

The first few claims the guard laid down already caused everyone to go into an uproar, but his final sentence caused everyone to dissolve into a state of complete shock.

“Moreover, the Third Prince wasn’t the only one to die there.” The guard turned around to look at the distant crowd and heavily said, “On the day, many of the martial artists, from the large sects, also ate Xi gongzi’s antidote and died. I only personally know that Nalan family’s Nalan Yanming alongside Murong family’s Murong Zhangfeng and Murong Hai died.”

“We originally had a hard time escaping the fate of turning into watery blood, but fortunately, the Ice Lotus Fairy and the Feng family’s people hurried over. In this pressing time, they quickly treated us, saving our lives.”

Once the guard’s words were out, everyone present immediately flared up.

They never thought that this little Foundation Establishment stage martial artist would be able to use poison and kill so many people

Not only was Jin Ling Country’s Third Prince among one of the victims, but so were many influential families’ elders.

Great distress and anger flooded Feng Lian Ying’s face as she looked at Hexi. With a heavy voice she said, “Xi gongzi, on that day, when we ran into each other at Water Moon Realm, didn’t I advise you?”

“You don’t have any of the skills of a doctor. Even if you have a few minor methods, you shouldn’t diagnose illnesses and you definitely shouldn’t carelessly prescribe medicine. Who would’ve thought that not only did you not listen, but you also harmed so many people in the process?”

“And when I rushed to Hundred Herb Mist, you actually attempted to block me, stating that your way of healing was the right way. If you weren’t so selfish, you wouldn’t have killed the Third Prince and so many other innocent people.”

By now, Feng Lian Ying’s eyes had already turned red, “Xi gongzi, you’re also a doctor. Don’t you know that every life is precious? That each sick person has their own family and friends? If their friends and family knew they died by your hands, they would feel extremely sad and hurt ah!”

“I’m just regretful that I didn’t arrive earlier and wasn’t firm enough. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have hurt so many lives!”

The hall’s atmosphere had been very tense since the beginning. Now, after Feng Lian Ying’s perfect performance, everyone’s emotions were nearly at the bursting point.

Especially for those that were apart of sects and influential families that sent their members to the Sealed Dragon Domain. They all fixed their angered gazes at Hexi, practically burning a hole through her.

“I never thought that this youth who seems to put on airs would actually turn out to be so malicious. This type of person simply doesn’t deserve to live in this world anymore.”

“Exactly, how come you guys didn’t just directly kill this person on the spot that day? Surprisingly, you actually let him run around for so long. The Ice Lotus Fairy is truly too kindhearted!”

“My Xian He Sect’s people entered Sealed Dragon Domain and never returned. They were most likely harmed by him!”

“Obviously he doesn’t even have a doctor’s rank, yet he actually dares to pretend and detoxify others. Now that he’s harmed others’ lives, don’t tell me that a debt of blood can’t be paid in blood?”

“Such an utterly heartless person should be thrown into a magic beast pit and die without a burial place.”

“Kill him! Kill him! Let’s take revenge for those who’ve died under this quack!!”

Translator Note the Feng family makes my blood boil 😤

Chapter 8 Teasing

[1/1] Chapter generously sponsored by anonymous~ ♥

The top of the large, magnificent bed was in complete disorder. A white clothed female sat atop it, pointing her two slender jade-like legs high up and swaying them back and forth. In her hands, she held an odd pen as she wrote and calculated things down on the account book in her lap. Discarded, crumpled pieces of paper surrounded her as she worked. Fu Hanmei entered the room only to be greeted by the disorderly scene. Her heart was filled with helplessness. Originally she thought she had been noticed by Master and would be trained. But she never thought she was only called to become the Young Miss’ servant girl. Although this wasn’t considered to be a humiliating outcome, she still couldn’t quiet the unwillingness in her heart. She didn’t want to be a boring servant girl. She wanted to accomplish things, not pass her life by in such a dull manner.

But now.. She lowly sighed and crouched down to pick up the pieces of discarded paper and put them in the trash bin. She blinked her flattering eyes and swept them across the room. But, she noticed that in the Young Miss’ hands seemed to be an accounting book for De Zhao’s thirty sixth year. De Zhao’s thirty sixth year wasn’t this year was it? How come the Young Miss had such an important accounting book? Not only that, she was drawing doodles on it! Was it that the Young Miss didn’t know this accounting book’s significance and was just playing around? In that case, wouldn’t that mean that one year of Master’s hard work had been wasted just like that?

Thinking up to here, Fu Hanmei couldn’t bring herself to care about the line between master and servant. She quickly stepped forward and attempted to grab the book out of Gu Weiyi’s hand. Then, she angrily reprimand her. “Does Young Miss know what this is? This is the accounting book Master exhaustively spent one year doing! How can Young Miss be so insensible and draw randomly on the pages? This servant knows that Master dotes upon Young Miss and would never get angry at you, but he certainly hopes that Young Miss will appreciate his labors! To complete this accounting book is a very laborious task ah!”

Narrowing her large, charming eyes, Gu Weiyi stared at her and coldly answered, “So Meimei actually cares about Ge like so ah. I didn’t know!” Gu Weiyi felt somewhat angry and upset. Had she misread her? This Fu Hanmei also likes gege but she just hid it even deeper?

Even though she was talented, women who were fond of gege couldn’t be left by her side. Women ah, they were always easily jealous. She didn’t want to leave a ticking time bomb by her side. One mistake and she would die without an intact corpse.

Fu Hanmei’s face turned red at her accusations, “Young Miss is too anxious, this servant doesn’t care for Master. Rather, this servant cares for this book. Young Miss is knowledgeable. This accounting book holds the works of Wei Residence’s thousand subordinates’ shop fronts and their painstaking nights worth of work. If Young Miss ruins the accounting book, Young Miss will have also spoiled countless hours of hard work!”

So it’s like so ah. Sure enough, it was just a foolish woman, it seems like she had really over thought it. Gu Weiyi faintly smiled with a somewhat teasing look on her face. She threw the accounting book in her hand toward Fu Hanei and jokingly said, “Then look and tell me whether or not I’m spoiling others’ hard work.”

Fu Hanmei doubtfully took the book and looked at it. At the top, she saw a dense block of incomprehensible characters scribbled across it. But as her gaze traveled further down, these characters became less and less. Could it be that Young Miss was illiterate?

Gu Weiyi saw Fu Hanmei’s confused face and suddenly realized.. She used Arabic numerals and simplified Chinese when accounting. Ancient people definitely wouldn’t understand what was written. Vexed, she slapped her head for forgetting. Gu Weiyi then went over and grabbed the accounting book back. Sigh, forget it. Sooner or later she had to teach her this so she could have the ability to do these things herself.

“Come over here.” Toward the dim witted woman, she curled her finger to indicate for her to draw closer. Then, Gu Weiyi took her self-made lead pencil and drew eleven Arabic numerals, “0-10” on the paper. Afterward, she wrote down the corresponding traditional Chinese characters. Gu Weiyi handed it over to her, indicating for her to take a look. Then she explained, “In the future, when you write in the accounting books, I don’t want you to use those complicated old characters. Just use these digits I wrote down, do you understand?”

When Fu Hanmei saw these digits, immense joy flooded into her eyes. These simple yet mysterious digits ensured that Wei Residence wouldn’t suffer any losses if this book was ever lost. These digits were too mysterious, Fu Hanmei felt excited just by looking at them. So it turned out that Young Miss wasn’t illiterate ah, it was just that Wei Residence’s accounting books were too precious. Who knew which genius thought up such digits for accounting. After thinking about it for a moment, Fu Hanmei concluded that it must’ve been Wei Residence’s Master.

“I’ll give you a day’s time to memorize it alright?”

“Yes Young Miss! This servant definitely can.” Looking at Fu Hanmei’s determined appearance, Gu Weiyi flattened her lips. This person was really a fool.

But she wouldn’t bother with her at the moment. She should focus on accounting again. If she could finish this accounting book sooner, when gege came home, they could all relax a bit more. She could settle a lot of matters on her own. She didn’t want them to work so hard. In any case, when she did these things in the past, the thing she did the most was precisely calculating bills and money making. For her, this was a piece of cake.

. . .

By the time she finished accounting, it was nearly nightfall. Gu Weiyi stood up and stretched. She turned and saw Fu Hanmei, who was still at the nearby desk, immersed in memorizing the digits and she shook her head. She had also instructed gege to give these digits to Xiaoran. Xiaoran had only taken an hour to memorize them. But Fu Hanmei, that fool, had taken an entire afternoon and still hadn’t finished. Perhaps she had expected too in too little for this amount of time. After all, not all ancient people were as smart as gege and Xiaoran. But, if it continued like this, she considered whether she should just keep her as a personal maid. Although she was a little dumb, it was still fun to bully a beautiful woman. It was really unfitting of her lovely face ah. Why was Fu Hanmei’s brain so stupid? Gu Weiyi smiled. She was truly an interesting individual.

“Have you finished memorizing them Meimei?” Gu Weiyi’s voice was teasing as she deliberately used a higher tone when saying “Meimei”. She watched with satisfaction as the opposite party’s face showed embarrassment and unwillingness.

“Young Miss, may you please not call this servant that?”

Han Fumei felt her forehead was dotted with cold sweat. Why was Young Miss so mean? She often saw a devious smile appear on that angel-looking face. When she saw that, her heart couldn’t help but tremor for she knew that the Young Miss was going to mess with her. She knew that she was a little foolish and her reactions were a little slow, which was why she was constantly teased by the Young Miss. But she had no other alternative. What could she do? The Young Miss was the master. What was she to do, blame her responsibilities and the Master? Moreover, she wasn’t such a petty person.

“Since Meimei doesn’t like when I call her this ah, I’ll just call you Hanhan!” Pretending not to see Fu Hanmei’s expression, Gu Weiyi continued messing with her.

A helpless expression appeared on Fu Hanmei’s charming face. She bent her head and lowly sighed, “As you say. This servant has already memorized them, does Young Miss have any other instructions?”

Facing toward a pile of accounting books on a desk, Gu Weiyi instructed, “Take a look at those tonight. If you don’t understand, come find me tomorrow.”

Climbing out of the bed with bare feet, Gu Weiyi continued instructing, “I want to take a bath, go prepare one for me. I’m going to go to the lotus flower pond to rest, bring me there first.”

“Yes.” Walking in front of Gu Weiyi, Fu Hanmei took out a pair of fur boots from her bosom and bent down, simply putting Gu Weiyi’s feet in them. Her tone was harsh as she said, “Young Miss, it’s cold out, how can you be barefooted? What if you freeze?”

Smiling, Gu Weiyi accepted her good intentions. In fact, underneath the entire building was a boiler. The floor wasn’t even cold, it could even be described as warm. When did Gu Weiyi ever use shoes when she was inside ah? But, looking down at those boots, she noted that they must be newly made. She couldn’t bring herself to reject the fool’s kind intentions toward herself. This fool’s character wasn’t that bad. It was unfortunate that that charming face was even prettier than her own face. Gu Weiyi still felt somewhat shaky in her heart. That was a woman ah. Charming, alluring, and shapely, all of which described Fu Hanmei. What a pity. As for herself, she was like a child. Everywhere on her body was small. How unfortuate ah!

She opened her arms, indicating for Fu Hanmei to carry her. Honestly speaking, for her to allow Fu Hanmei to carry her was a privilege in itself. When did she, Gu Weiyi, ever allow a stranger to come close or even to touch her ah? She actually had mysophobia, but gege and Cutie were exceptions.

Already understanding how lazy her family’s Young Miss was, Fu Hanmei directly bent her waist. Gu Weiyi didn’t hesitate and quickly clamored onto her back, wrapping her arms around her neck. The feeling of exquisite skin touching her and hot air breathing on her neck caused Fu Hanmei’s cheeks to turn red for some unknown reason. She faced in front of her, not allowing the person behind her to sense her abnormality.

Walking over to the front door, Fu Hanmei felt a strange breath. It was unfamiliar, heavy, and not human-like. As she was still puzzling over this, she saw a round white ball hurling toward her. On guard, she took a step back and was able to clearly see a full-grown white tiger lunging at her. She merely saw its mouth wide open as it was directly lunging at her and Young Miss.

“Young Miss, be careful!”

Using qinggong, she quickly stepped back and put Gu Weiyi on the stone chair behind her. She then turned around to come face-to-face with the white tiger, shielding Gu Weiyi behind her. Heavens ah, how could such a fierce animal suddenly appear? It was even a full-grown white tiger! How could she make this situation in favor of herself? After all, Fu Hanmei knew her own weight. If she was directly pitted against this white tiger, she had no chance of winning. But, her current circumstances left no room for her to cower.

“Young Miss, in a moment, I’ll lead it away. You must remember to run, do you understand me?!” Fu Hanmei warned, her face solemn. She didn’t turn around, missing the teasing appearance of Gu Weiyi behind her.

This fool. Did she not think about where she was? How could a ferocious, man-eating beast appear in her Wei Residence building? Did she think her building was a joke? But, this fool was really so cute when she was overprotective. She cast a glance at Cutie, telling her not to overdo it. The intelligent spirit animal was obviously able to grasp Gu Weiyi’s plan. Unexpectedly, the same crafty gleam in Gu Weiyi’s eyes flashed across it’s amber eyes.

The power beasts’ face was terrifying as it’s enormous figure lunged forward. Fu Hanmei’s figure moved, but the keen tiger was still able to make a tear in her clothes. Soon after, the next several times, she was luckily able to dodge. She secretly let out a loose breath, but she didn’t realize that this was actually the white tiger “throwing the game”.

If Cutie truly wanted to see her dead, she would’ve been dead a long time ago. When Cutie saw Fu Hanmei always dodging, her amber eyes rolled. She turned her body and pounced at Gu Weiyi instead.

When she saw this, Fu Hanmei was filled with great terror. There was no time for her to think as she quickly dashed over and jumped on Gu Weiyi, shielding her with her own body. During this moment, Fu Hanmei felt that she could barely breathe! She just tightly shut her eyes. As long as the person she was shielding was fine, she didn’t need to think too much about anything else. But after a long time passed, she didn’t feel any of the pain she expected. Just as she was puzzling over this, she heard the sound of a woman’s light laughter sound out from beside her.

“That’s enough, get up.” Gu Weiyi smiled, extremely happy. This fool could be considered to have passed her test. For her to be able to unselfishly sacrifice her life, even if it was just because of her loyalty toward her Master, was already a very admirable trait and deeply appreciated by Gu Weiyi. Fu Hanmei was someone worthy to be viewed as trustworthy by her! She shouldn’t be a second Qing Yi. She knew that Qing Yi had betrayed her, even if it was because of love, that love was too blind. So now, she wanted someone who could sacrifice their life without the slightest hesitation without questioning or disobeying her.

Doubtful eyes drifted over and saw Gu Weiyi intimately stroking that white tiger and that white tiger fawningingly rubbing it’s immense body on Gu Weiyi. Seeing this, she suddenly understood everything. Unprecedented anger filled Fu Hanmei’s heart at this moment. Disappointment flashed through her eyes, her tone turned ice cold, and ridicule filled her face as she laid her eyes on Gu Weiyi.

“Young Miss, is there a need to sound out this servant this way? As a subordinate, this servant always remembers her role! Or is it that Young Miss thinks that playing tricks on this servant is very good? This servant is also a person, not Young Miss’ toy for Young Miss to play with when she is bored!”

Knowing her wrongs, Gu Weiyi straightened her expression and sincerely apologized, “Meimei, I know that my probing you out hurt your feelings. But you also need to understand that trust can’t be given out to so easily. I’m sure you know of Wei Residence’s importance. You should also know that its secrets can’t be leaked out into the world. I have no other choice but to be cautious. But I never treated you as a toy to be made fun of. The one who always thought of herself as a subordinate.”

“This servant doesn’t dare…”

“It’s just that,” Gu Weiyi interrupted her and continued saying, “It’s you who always speaks of herself as a servant. Is even a subordinate unwilling to attend upon me?”

Having been exposed of her true feelings, Han Fumei felt amazed, but still attempted to weakly explain, “No, it’s not that. This servant…”

“Fu Hanmei, before you dream about getting my respect, shouldn’t you learn to respect yourself first? When I chose you, I didn’t choose you to be a subordinate. I wanted an assistant capable of contributing to Wei Residence! Why do you think I kept you by my side? What is knowing your shortcomings worth? You clearly want to prove yourself, but you’re too cowardly to. You have a brain, yet you’re always half a beat behind because you doubt yourself too much. You need to feel more confident in your own judgements! How come you want others to recognize you when you can’t even recognize yourself?”

After Fu Hanmei heard Gu Weiyi’s strict questions, her heart was thrown into chaos. Such a profound analyzation.. That woman actually directly exposed the restlessness and anxiety she buried deep into her heart. So much so that she didn’t even realize she held herself so lowly. At this moment, her brain was at a loss. But it was extremely clear to her that she had to face everything.

“Go prepare my bath for me. Remember, don’t disappoint me.” Gu Weiyi climbed onto Cutie’s back and they both slowly walked away, leaving behind an expressionless and unmoving Fu Hanmei, who was deep in thought.

If one wanted to receive recognition from others, they had to first recognize themselves ah! Did she have such low confidence? Yes ah. It was funny that in the end, she had been seen through by another when she herself didn’t even know that she was being cheated ah!

Then could she give the things she wanted?

Possibly.

. . .

The piping hot bath was large enough to be called a small lake. There was a luxurious marble board, renowned artists’ paintings, and red gauze faintly moved about, creating a hazy scene. This bath was probably just as luxurious, if not more than the emperor’s. In fact, there were even rose petals floating around on top of the bath, a luxury even the emperor couldn’t afford! Just how rich was Wei Residence? It was too scary to think about. How much money Wei Residence had was a secret, a secret nobody knew. Just exactly how much power it had behind it was also unknown!

From the lightly fragranced bath, a figure emerged, made hazy by a red muslin screen. Correcting her train of thought, Fu Hanmei let loose a breath and drew near the emerging figure. She should choose and face it, right? Young Miss wasn’t the ignorant woman she first that she was. Her intelligence and farsightedness was something she had never even thought possible. She would obey, be sincere, and devote all her loyalty to her. From now on, her body and soul was the Young Miss’. This was the outcome Young Miss wanted right?

“Young Miss, I…”

Fu Hanmei lifted up the muslin and looked up, but instantly stiffened. The slender woman’s clothes had all been taken off, exposing her white, jade-like flesh underneath. And under the contrasting light, her skin shone like a jewel. Her inky black hair draped over her shoulders and scattered down her back, exposing her delicate shoulder and slender legs. When she heard her name called, she turned her exquisite face around, exposing her steam-reddened cheeks.

By this point, Fu Hanmei’s face was as red as a tomato. She was completely embarrassed by her own thoughts as she turned her head around and stuttered, “Young… Young Miss… This servant calls upon… You… To take a bath.”

Gu Weiyi saw Fu Hanmei hiding behind the muslin, as if she had just seen something inappropriate and Gu Weiyi smiled. They were both women. What was there to be afraid or embarrassed of? But, this was still the first time her body had been seen by anyone other than gege. When she thought about it again, having such a charming woman attend to her was a type of pleasure in itself ah! Honestly speaking, she had never bathed herself before because these things were usually done by gege. All she needed to do was lie down and rest for a bit. Although bathing was technically a simple task, toward someone who had always been waited upon, it was difficult ah.

Walking near the bath, Gu Weiyi lifted her head, showing a mischevious smile on her face.

Chapter 7 Put To The Test

Warning NSFW content ahead, read at your own risk.

That was the first time she saw them kill someone so mercilessly. The brothel was instantly filled with miserable shrieks and the sound of others fleeing from fear, but she didn’t mind any of it. Her beautiful, Asura-like geges’ faces were even angrier than they were at Blue Snow Stronghold. The man that had been lying on her body had been cut up into pieces by them before being turned into a powdery corpse. All that was left of him was the bloodstain on the floor.

Afterward, on that restless and anger-filled night, she truly became their woman. Her clothing had been ripped apart and under the light, they couldn’t see perfectly but could still make out her matured, beautiful body. Seeing this sight drove the two of them crazy. Raindrop-like kisses rained down all over her body. She smiled in response to this, which provoked them even further. The moment they entered, she bit down on their shoulder, not wanting to cry out. Even though it really hurt, she couldn’t calm the two of them when they were still in their moment of rage. She had been treated roughly her first time. This was their punishment for her, but she was willing to bear it. As long as she could erase the doubt in her mind, she was willing to suffer any sort of pain. Intense entangling and deep emotions characterized her first time.

When they woke up the next day and saw her injured body, they couldn’t help but shed a few tears. She had never seen them cry before, but this time, they were crying because they had seen her hurt. Because they had punished her, they carefully brought her into their embrace. Afterward, when she was fully awake, they knelt by the door for a whole day. Afterward, they came back to take care of her. Even though their knees were bleeding, they didn’t bother to bind their wounds. She didn’t persuade them otherwise. She merely smiled and accepted their apologies. Even though she never once thought, “Why, why do you have to do it like this? You fool ah!”

“If I had really been dishonored by that man, would you still want me ge?”

“Of course we’d still want you, why wouldn’t we? Yi Yi is who we love the most ah!”

“Then I’m the same ah!”

Needless to say, they already understood the intentions of her actions.

They were originally very resentful towards the world. The humiliation they suffered in their childhood came back in memories that haunted their lives. They loathed men and loathed touching strangers. But Yi Yi was different. She was the one they protected and watched grow up. Since the first moment she laid eyes on them, she felt nothing but love. She was the sole person who looked at them without hatred or fear. The love they felt for her coupled with the understanding and care she had for them made it impossible for them not to be moved. What was filthy in this world? It wasn’t bodies, it was people’s hearts ah!

Ge, I belittled you. It’s yourselves ah. Why do you always have to clutch onto the past instead of looking at the future? The future we’ve finally regained?”

That day, Gu Weiyi softly opened her mouth in their ears; The tears in your eyes makes my heart hurt. There isn’t such a thing as filthy or not filthy nor is there anything such as being able to be with you and not. Why must you use arrogance to disguise your inferior feelings? There isn’t social ranking in love ah. However I am in your eyes and heart is however you guys are in mine ah!

At that moment, they suddenly understood that all of their hesitation and worry was just their own thinking. What has passed is already buried in the past. They were no longer the same people as before. They have the right to love and be loved and they could obtain happiness.

Sweet kisses rained down on her body as they tangled together, breathing in each others’ air. She accepted their frantic actions but cautious doting. Gu Weiyi was still shy. She had never before experienced the most beautiful and profound emotions that only spouses shared together. Each time, she was shy. She shut her eyes, not brave enough to meet their gazes. But she knew they were watching her with eyes brimming full of love. Her body felt panic, making it so she lost all control. By her ear, she heard their deep sighs of love.

Their Yi Yi was so shy, like a child. But that was exactly what they loved; her shy and blurry eyes. No matter how many urges they had, they couldn’t bring themselves to hurt her. Each time, the joy was thin and faint. It was like a stream running at the bottom of the heart. Between them, there forever was the warm feeling of love ah! It wasn’t intense, like a firework and short lived; They wanted to experience this warmth and protection for a lifetime.

After the deeply-rooted emotional act, Gu Weiyi was extremely worn out and quickly fell asleep. When the two people saw her tired eyes resting, they left a long kiss on her forehead. She had sacrificed too much over these past few years for Wei Residence. She had originally been so thin, but now, she was reduced to a shadow of her former self. She was already a mature, twenty year old woman, but she still looked like a fifteen or sixteen year old dainty child. They were destined to not have children for their entire life. As long as she chose to be with them, she would lose the privilege to be a mother. But, they didn’t want children in the first place. After having a child, they would no longer be the only ones in Yi Yi’s eyes. Let alone to speak of that taboo bloodline ah. Their entangling was bound to be a type of painful experience. Otherwise, why would their future still be so hidden and restless? It caused them to closely hold onto her yet be unable to resist the torment and worry in their hearts. But the tender body squished between them was so warm it soon lulled them into a deep sleep with a satisfied smile on their face.

. . .

Five people, made up of males and females, stood at the front of the gorgeous building’s doorway. Their expressions were either restless, emotionally moved, or nervous. But each of them was forcing themselves to remain calm.

Today they were going to meet their legendary master, the most mysterious person in all of Xue Yu. How could they not feel moved and honored? The group was comprised of three males and two females. One of the men looked to be about thirty years old. His face seemed gentle and cultivated, but his eyes were bright and experienced, making it known to others that he couldn’t looked down upon. The second person was a handsome male that looked to be about twenty years old. His eyes were high-spirited, but he looked at the two women beside him with disdain. The last male was a short young man who looked to only be twelve or thirteen years old. On his face, there was a cowardly expression, making everyone have the impression that he relied on his relations to get here. But they didn’t dare question their great master. Perhaps this child had some sort of skill. The two girls both seemed to be about sixteen years old. One was charming and enchanting, but her figure was tall. The way she dressed made her seem powerful. Even though she looked charming, she didn’t lose any bit of her heroic spirit. The other looked to be fresh and pure. Her figure was slender and she dressed just like the pretty daughter of a humble family. But, they both held a lofty air in their eyes. Alongside their beauty, it increased how intelligent they looked. It caused people to be unable to despise them.

After a moment, the door opened to reveal a gray-haired old man. He was clearly already past his prime but his steps were firm and his breathing was steady. It was clear that he was a well-practiced person whose strength wasn’t weak. The five people were instantly stunned. Even Master’s watchman was so strong, it seems like Master’s strength was much higher than their own! The expressions suddenly turned imposing. They didn’t dare to act impudent and all mirrored the aura of the magnificent male. They even retracted the disdain they had for the two females. To be able to be regarded as important by the Mater must mean that they have some qualities that others can’t compare to, even if they’re a woman. So, he immediately stopped underestimating them.

They were led inside and soon saw their Master. He appeared in front of them, carrying a woman in his embrace. All of their expressions remained amazed, but none dared to move. When Tianyue saw the time was right, he stepped forward. He shifted Han Xianfei’s line of sight who suddenly realized he had been looking at Master’s woman for so long. His face instantly turned deathly pale.

“Master, this subordinate feels that each of these flowers is a rare treasure. If you took them out and sold them in Xue Yu, profits would definitely increase by a hundredfold!” Master was a merchant, he would naturally care about his own benefit. His words just now were all said with Master in mind. Wasn’t owning these flowers just for profit? Tianyue’s heart flashed with a thread of delight, but he didn’t let it show on his face.

“En.” Xue Yunge didn’t give much thought to his words and merely looked at the other people who hadn’t spoken, indicating for them to.

The charming woman, Fu Hanmei, looked at the flower garden and muttered to herself for a long time before saying, “It’s.. Very beautiful here.. But.. It’s different from the outside.”

Weren’t these words rubbish? Obviously this garden was different from the outside. Was there still a need for her to say it? Sure enough, she was a short-sighted woman. After hearing what she said, Han Yufei and Tianyue’s eyes flashed with disdain as they became more determined to win.

Mo Xiangze charmingly smiled and sweetly said, “If this place was open for the nobility and high officials to marvel and stroll, there will definitely be a lot of profit.” Correct ah, there was no need to sell the plants. They could open it and bring more popularity to Xue Yu as well as earn a profit. Mo Xiang was definitely a business woman. Her thinking was even more deep and thoughtful than Tianyue.

Seeing Tianyue’s stiff face, Mo Xiang let out a faint smile but didn’t show a thread of provocation on her face. Instead, she appeared quite calm and benevolent. Seeing Xue Yunge and Gu Weiyi, who he was carrying, something indescribable flashed through her eyes but died as fast as it came.

The last person to speak was the youngest male. When he saw that everyone was looking at him, he shyly shifted a step back and said, “I think that it’s warmer here than outside.”

When his words came out, the other four people had smiling expressions in their eyes. It was just that it was unknown who was friendly and who was sinister.

Gu Weiyi seriously paid attention to the youth. Xue Yunge noticed and knew that Yi Yi must’ve had some idea about the youth, but he didn’t open his mouth. The youth’s face was slightly red but he was still exceptionally firm, “It’s warmer here than outside.”

Gu Weiyi was suddenly startled. She didn’t expect that this young boy would be able to see through her greenhouse principle. A plan formed in her heart as she watched the five people in front of her. She straightened her body in Xue Yunge’s arms and said, “I have a question to ask you. You have a mother and two daughters. The mother died and the pair of sisters went to the funeral. At the funeral, the younger sister saw a handsome man and fell in love at first sight. But after the funeral, the man disappeared. No matter how hard the younger sister searched, she couldn’t find him. After a month passed, the younger sister killed the older sister. Why?”

This problem was from criminal psychology and Gu Weiyi remembered seeing it in her past life. After the group remained quiet for a long time, Gu Weiyi saw Han Yufei’s expression hold annoyance and Tianyue’s once gentle face completely serious and even holding some hints of defeat. Upon seeing this, Gu Weiyi once again said, “How about this, put your thoughts down on some paper and you guys can leave. Whoever we choose out of this group will be notified by a messenger. If you aren’t notified, then it means you’ve been eliminated.”

Like this, they would be able to avoid anyone feeling embarrassed or discontent. When the group saw Xue Yunge treating this woman with so much indulgence, they knew that she wasn’t simple. Satisfied, they each nodded their heads in agreement and wrote their solution down on the pre-prepared paper. Once they were done, they left.

Lazily lying down on the chair, Gu Weiyi picked up their responses and rested her head on Xue Yunge’s shoulder as she read through them. How strange. Apart from Han Yufei and Tianyue, the other three people were able to write out the answer: “In order to see the man she admired, the younger sister killed her older sister.”

“What does Yi Yi think?”

“En, if I were to choose, I would want Xiaoran and Fu Hanmei.” After muttering to herself for a few moments, Gu Weiyi slowly replied.

Somewhat curious, Xue Yunge picked up a peeled grape and put into Gu Weiyi’s mouth as he asked, “Why? Xiaoran’s expression wasn’t good throughout and Fu Hanmei is just ordinary. But that Mo Xiang and Tianyue don’t lack brains. As for Han Feiyu, he was actually so daring as to covet you. My letting him live is already gracious enough!” Angrily saying, Xue Yunge’s eyes were filled with undisguised jealousy.

When Gu Weiyi saw this, she couldn’t help but start laughing. She spit out black seeds and when Xue Yunge saw this, he immediately took out a handkerchief to wipe the corner of her mouth.

“Even though Xiaoran seems somewhat shaky, he’s actually quite smart. Out of these few people, he was the only one to see my greenhouse. The temperature of this place is the crucial point. Others noticed the flowers and some even realized the worth, but they didn’t look into the way that I was able to produce such flowers. In comparison, even though Fu Hanmei had some idea, she wasn’t able to say the reason. But compared to the other three, she isn’t so bad.”

Smiling as he listened to Gu Weiyi’s analysis, a tender smile streaked across Xue Yunge’s face. Sure enough, their Yi Yi was a heaven-sent genius that couldn’t be overlooked.

“Moxiang isn’t bad, but this woman’s reply is proper. It shows that her heart is actually quite vicious. In order to obtain her own goal, she’s willing to be unscrupulous. Moreover, she’s also quite shrewd. If we supported her, it would be bringing a calamity to ourselves. I wouldn’t want to do such a thing.”

Hehe.” Xue Yunge poked Gu Weiyi’s nose lovingly and laughed to his heart’s content, “But, Fu Hanmei also replied ah, and Xiaoran o?”

Blankly staring at Xue Yunge, Gu Weiyi spoke somewhat angrily, “Ge, don’t think that I didn’t see the look in that woman’s eyes. She looked at me in your embrace and I saw envy flit across her face. Humph! That woman is very skilled in hiding her true emotions. But, her gaze always lingered on your face for too long! On the other hand, Fu Hanmei didn’t even cast a second glance at you!”

The smile in Xue Yunge’s eyes became even more evident. His Yi Yi was eating vinegar! How could his heart not feel delighted? He loved her to death, so her caring for him in return was an outrageously beautiful thing. Seeing Xue Yunge laugh so splendidly, Gu Weiyi narrowed her eyes, “Ge, this woman wouldn’t happen to be someone you brought here to anger me, right?”

“How could that be?!” In one swoop, he grabbed her body and left kiss after kiss on her small, red mouth. “How could gege be willing to make you feel sad?”

“To be able to answer this question means that you have the mind of a criminal psychologist. But, there’s another type of person who specializes in the psychology of committing a crime. Xiaoran is intelligent and quick-witted, but he lacks courage.  Fu Hanmei is calm headed, even though she’s a bit slower than the others, she would be a good match with Xiaoran. These two are our capable assistants. After a few years of training, they’ll be equal to us. But, we must properly control them. We wouldn’t want them to ultimately become an obstacle to ourselves. After all, we want two people to be our personal subordinates!”

Gu Weiyi’s face was somewhat serious. If this was the previous Gu Weiyi, she definitely wouldn’t be so cold-hearted! But, if people didn’t protect themselves, they would be the one getting hurt in the end. She didn’t want to be that person anymore.

Presently, Gu Weiyi wasn’t an angel and she had never been one. But, her suddenly seeming to sprout dark wings looked like she was just that bit closer to Xue Yunge. If devils fell in love with angels, that would be a travesty. But if an angel fell from grace, wouldn’t they be able to be just a bit closer?

The answer was definitely.

At this moment, Xue Yunge’s heart suddenly swelled up with intense delight and touched emotions. In one motion, he brought the person in his embrace even closer. He passionately bit the corner of Gu Weiyi’s lip. The suddenly attacked Gu Weiyi didn’t act surprised, instead she tightly hugged him back and allowed him to intensely kiss her. She didn’t know what was up with him.

Xue Yunge’s kisses were both intense and tender. Their lips tangled together as he forced her mouth open, deepening the kiss. Their saliva mixed together, the kiss sweet enough to intoxicate someone. Gu Weiyi softly reciprocated his actions, her white jade-like skin having turned a shade of red by now. Her water eyes held emotions that enticed and enchanted Xue Yunge, causing his heart to stop beating for a second. His slender hands stretched out and went inside Gu Weiyi’s clothing. Under his hands, he felt her pottery-like skin. Gu Weiyi was completely in a daze and didn’t even feel his actions. By the time she finally noticed, half of her clothes had already been taken off. Suddenly she remembered that her first time that night had seemed to have gone to big brother. But, the current him was much more tender than that night.

She blushed and thought to resist him, but with one violent kiss, her mind suddenly turned blank and she turned to mush in his arms. After a long time, her mouth was finally able to form a few shy rejections.

Ge.. Not good. Yesterday night, Yi Yi was very tired….”

How could the stirred up Xue Yunge listen to her words? He wanted to hug her to confirm her existence. He always loved her, never wanting to depart.

In the flower-filled greenhouse, an overly sentimental odor wafted through it, leaving behind a winding spring scenery.

Under the red muslin canopy, two sleeping figures laid on the large bed. Their hair intertwined together on the white blanket, making it appear like black brush strokes had been swept across. The man’s enchanting face held a happy expression. His two hands tightly held onto the woman in his arms, looking like he would hate to part from her. And the extremely tired woman had blush on her face and tired breaths. She looked like a tiny kitten when nestled in the man’s embrace, her breathing steady.

A pure and cold, lotus-like man opened the canopy to see this tender and beautiful scene. A smile appeared on his icy face. He had just arrived home, so for him to be able to see that his beloved woman and the ge he respected waiting for him was a happy thing!

On the bed, Xue Yunge opened his eyes and let out a smile toward his younger brother. “You’ve returned.” Sitting up, he proceeded to carefully drape the quilt back on the still sleeping woman before getting out of bed and properly welcoming his brother back. This was the first time they divided up their tasks. This was all in order to accompany their lonely Yi Yi. Although Yue was his younger brother, he had always accompanied him when doing things. This was the first time he handled such a heavy responsibility. But Xue Yunge and was sure that he would excel at it.

“Yue, first go rest a bit. I’ll settle the rest.”

“En.”

After sharing one more trusting glance, Xue Yunge walked over to the doorway. And Xue Zhuyue looked at the sleeping woman with eyes full of love. He cautiously laid down on the bed. Gathering the woman in his arms, he fell into a deep  slumber. He had been rushing around all day, dealing with various issues. But so long as he saw her, he felt like all his troubles melted away.

The pavilion was surrounded with pink lotus flowers. Gu Weiyi sat in Xue Zhuyue’s embrace as she looked at the writing laid out on the stone table. She had worked hard these past few years to develop her flower greenhouse and she spent a lot in the process. Now was the time she would get a return on all her investments. But, she still had to consider how she would maximize profits with this greenhouse. After all, these flowers and plants had all been cultivated in the greenhouse. The moment they left, their lifespan would be extremely short, making it a waste of resources.

Ge, do you have any ideas?”

“I think we should hold a Gifting Flower Festival where we invite all sorts of merchants, political leaders, celebrities, and unmarried noble daughers to come. After all, Xue Yu doesn’t have any such plants of flowers. I trust that many people will be willing to buy some. Even though the lifespan of the flowers and plants are short, for idiots with nowhere to spend their money, their arrogance and face is much more important.” Coldly opening his mouth, Xue Zhuyue’s eyes were filled with hardly concealed disdain and contempt for those high ranking officials and noble personages.

Idiots? It was close enough. Gu Weiyi pursued her lips and faintly smiled, nodding her head, “This idea isn’t bad, but I still think it isn’t enough. Ge, I’m going to first turn the flowers in Chengxi into a place to go on vacation.”

A place to go on vacation? What is that? Xue Yunge looked at her with an inquiring expression, full of interest.

One had to understand that this world had no such thing. After all, only a small number of people were able to travel in such a feudal society. Moreover, for the most part, such trips were still considered to be business trips. To travel merely for the fun of it could even be said to be a new initiative! Gu Weiyi thoughtfully considered her response before replying.

“En. The idea of a place to go vacationing is just that we put those flowers and plants on display. Just like how we decorated our house, we must make it  luxurious and beautiful. But we need to open this castle up to those noble personages and high ranking officials. They can treat this vacation place as a separate courtyard, but they have to spend a large amount of money to be able to rent it. This way, our flowers and plants need not leave the greenhouse and waste a large amount of resources, but we can still rake in a huge profit ah!”

As she was speaking, she was drawing out her thoughts on the paper. Gu Weiyi suddenly curiously turned her head around and accidentally hit Xue Zhuyue’s lips. Her obsidian eyes just happened to catch the breathtaking smile on Xue Zhuyue’s face. She couldn’t help but shyly avoid his gaze, her cheeks inflamed. Heavens ah, this was really too humiliating. How could she be so unlucky? Pursuing her lips, Gu Weiyi hurriedly turned around and pointed at the paper. “Ge, what do… What do you think?”

The smile on his lips deepened as Xue Zhuyue looked at the bashful Yi Yi. He neared her white jade-like ears and whispered, “Ge.. Feels it’s.. Very good.”

His deep voice and hot air circulated around her neck, dying Gu Weiyi’s pale skin pink. Letting out a few pure laughs, Xue Zhuyue leaned closer and lightly touched the tip of his nose to her forehead and placed a passionate kiss on the outer corner of her eyes.

“My Yi Yi is very intelligent. Gege feels inferior!”

“That.. You feel that?” Stammering out a reply, Gu Weiyi felt his praise was somewhat embarrassing. She directly shut her eyes, not daring to look at him.

“Naturally my Yi Yi is the most intelligent and beautiful woman in this world.”

Soft, feather-like kisses started from her forehead and drifted down. The middle of her forehead, eyes, nose, cheek, and finally her cherry-pink lips. Letting out a sigh, Xue Zhuyue softly overturned that soft and warm body, gently reprimanding it with kisses. His cautiousness and tenderness caused Gu Weiyi to become intoxicated in his embrace. She fervently responded, touched by his actions.

Time is endless on this world. But how come ever since I met you, I feel as if it disappears too quickly? I’m scared there isn’t enough time to be with you.

Ge, that Xiaoran isn’t bad. He’s intelligent, acute, and he even has a knack for business. Furthermore, he’s still so young. Once properly trained, he’ll be an excellent and capable assistant for us. As for Fu Hanmei, just deliver her to me to train. This person can be considered quick-witted, even if she responds too slowly. She’s be the perfect candidate for my personal maid.” Gu Weiyi lied down on Xue Zhuyue and lazily opened her mouth. A sly light flashed through her eyes when she relayed her plans. That enchanting woman was so beautiful, but when she saw ge, she actually still remained indifferent. Clearly this woman didn’t that sort of superficial character. Towards her, Gu Weiyi held some interest. It was rare to find something interesting in this boring life, she would definitely not let her go.

. . .

In front of the beautiful doors of the building stood a woman who looked both charming and nimble. But presently, doubt was evident in her eyes. Her expression that day wasn’t the best. Yet how come she was still asked to come back? It wasn’t that she was upset, in fact, she was overjoyed. Being a woman, it was hard to be treated equally in this world. It was Wei Residence that gave her confidence and the ability to rely on herself in this life. She was no longer a lowly prostitute. Now she was a shopkeeper for one of Wei Residence’s branches. And now, she had gained her Master’s favor.  She, Fu Hanmei, didn’t want to be some weak woman. She wanted to be someone who was no less inferior than her male counterparts. Who said women were inferior to men? She wanted to be a symbol of strength for women, not another cowardly woman who bowed her head and let others decide her fate.

“Follow me.”

The person bringing her was the same old man from that day. Fu Hanmei performed a ceremony before following the old man inside. They went through a slightly different route than the one they had taken last time. They walked through a long hallway and she saw a beautiful pond filled with lotuses to the side. In the distant, she could faintly make out two people sitting in a pavilion. The old man stopped in front of the pavilion, using a low voice generated through internal power, he alerted the two people there. “Masters, the person is here.” After reporting so, the old man turned around to face Fu Hanmei and said, “Go in yourself.”

From a distant she saw a saw a pure and cold, lotus-like man leaning against the railing. Nestled in his arms was a dainty figure. It was that jade-like figurine woman she saw that day. A smile full of love was plastered across her elegant face. The male also held a tender expression as he illustrated something for her on a piece of paper.

From time to time, the woman would laugh and turn her head around the meet the male’s pampering gaze and smile with love painted on her features. Their beautiful actions coupled with the magnificent scenery created a beautiful drawing. So beautiful that she couldn’t even bring herself to interrupt and ruin it. Fu Hanmei stood outside the pavilion, not daring to move.

Her heart suddenly started throbbing for an indescribable reason. Such a love was in the dreams of every woman. But would she ever get to experience such a love one day?

That woman looked so tender. She wasn’t someone she, this tomboy, could compare with. When she thought of this, she bowed her head sadly. The current Fu Hanmei didn’t know that a day would come where she would regret these very thoughts.

. . .

A delicate, beautiful figure dressed in fur clothes leaned against a chair. She faced a charming woman and waved her hands as she spoke, seeming to be exceptionally unbridled.

“Meimei, bring the accounting book over for me.”

The charming woman’s face darkened and she clenched her teeth. Turning around, she picked up the accounting book the Young Miss just threw away and respectfully handed it back to her.

“Meimei, I’m tired. Go steep some tea for me, I want Longjing Before the Rain  ah, I won’t drink anything else.”

“Yes Young Miss.”

Fu Hanmei resignedly turned around. Demon, Young Miss was simply just a demon! She didn’t know which idiot she had offended to be able to think she was tender and kind hearted! Now she finally knew what was called an illusion and what was ‘too late for regrets’! But, she no longer had another choice.

In her hands, she carried a colored glass cup that emitted steam and a distinctly sweet fragrance. Gu Weiyi looked up and saw it, casting side glances at it and indicating to Han Fumei. The charmingly idiotic Fu Hanmei merely stared back at her with wide eyes.

Heavens ah, Gu Weiyi sighed. This person was really too stupid. How was she supposed to cure such an ailment ah! Helplessly, she said, “Bring it to my lips ah!”

What? Fu Hanmei finally learned what was the pinnacle of laziness. From getting dressed, washing her face, combing her hair, and even eating and drinking, she had never once seen Young Miss do these things for herself. The Masters carried her and completed practically every one of these tasks for her. She had never seen someone be spoiled to this extent before.

Moreover, her original thinking was wrong. Young Miss didn’t seem to be the Masters’ concubine, she seemed to be their meimei*. She had once heard the Young Miss address the Masters as ge. But, the two Masters were also quite strange. One moment they were charmingly pretty and the next they were as cold as ice.

But regardless of how they were feeling, the moment they saw Young Miss, they immediately turned gentle and kind. Their expressions were so tender looking it felt as if they could practically start crying. When Master and Young Miss were like that, it felt as she was in some fantasy scenario. But there seemed to be a sort of intimacy between them, causing her to feel doubtful. But she couldn’t pinpoint what it was she felt doubtful of.

Fu Hanmei didn’t know that because of such a misunderstanding, she would be forced into a fearful battle in the future.

*Meimei (妹妹 means younger sister) and Meimei (袂 means the sleeve of a robe, but in this case, it’s part of Fu Hanmei’s name) are two different characters but they sound the same (except for the different accents)

Chapter 508 Two Witnesses

After receiving Feng Lian Ying’s support, Shangguan Zhenyue immediately gained confidence again and even her words became harsher, “What Feng jiejie said is right. You’re nothing more than a lowly doctor’s attendant, why would third brother and I go bother with you?”

“Your heart is narrow, so you hate us and plotted to murder third brother. What words do you have to say now?!”

Hexi indifferently replied, “O, however you guys say it is however it is. I have nothing more to say.”

“Since you’ve admitted to it, there’s no need to continue this trial!” Shangguan Wenji immediately waved his hand and loudly proclaimed, “Come, immediately arrest him for me!”

Hexi merely sneered, “Is His Majesty’s hearing poor? When did I admit I killed him? Don’t tell me that disagreeing with someone means that they’ll be a murderer?”

“In that case, I heard that the Crown Prince once had an argument with Third Prince at the imperial court. Don’t tell me that the Third Prince’s death means that his gege, the Crown Prince, is also under suspicion?”

Originally, the Crown Prince had been quietly sitting in the back, listening to this joke. But once he heard Hexi’s words, his face turned unsightly.

Shangguan Wenji was even more furious and his body began shaking from the anger. He hated that he couldn’t immediately strangle this rude youngster to death.

Feng Yunjing cast a cold glance at the Dragon Throne and the emperor immediately cleared his head. Gently laughing, he said, “Since you insist on going this way, don’t blame me for being unsightly toward you. Come someone, bring the witnesses out.”

Once he said that, two Gold Core stage martial artists with scars on their faces were soon brought out.

Once she laid eyes on these two, understanding filled Hexi’s heart.

These two were the two Gold Core stage guards that Shangguan Rui had brought with himself to Hundred Herb Mist that day. Together with Shangguan Rui, they both contracted Blood Intoxicated Poison.

After Shangguan Rui died, they each used a magic weapon to exchange for the detoxifying soup.

She never thought they would turn into people who would come and testify against herself as a murderer. Hehe… It really was interesting.

When the two guards saw the sneer at the corner of Hexi’s mouth, they both frantically avoided her gaze, not daring to look at her.

At Hundred Herb Mist that day, although Hexi required a high price, she was still considered to be their savior.

Now, they were going to bite the hand that fed them and testify against their savior in front of all these martial artists. Their conscious was certainly filled with much guilt.

But when they thought of the large reward and beautiful feature Feng family promised them, they clenched their teeth and forced their faces to remain calm.

Shangguan Wenji looked at the two of them and loudly said, “You two accompanied Rui’er into Sealed Dragon Domain that day. Now, I’m asking you two to relay everything that happened in the Secret Territory.”

The two first performed the proper ceremony toward the emperor and the various sects in the crowd. Then, they started talking.

“That day, we were in Sealed Dragon Domain’s Green Wood Realm looking for Hundred Herb Mist. After we entered into Hundred Herb Mist, we and Third Prince made the mistake of eating a poisonous plant and we were nearly about to die.”

“At this time, this Xi Yue gongzi appeared and said he was a doctor and could detoxify us. However, we had to each give up a precious magic weapon or medicine in order to receive treatment.”

One of the guards took a small silver bell out from his chest and said, “This is a fifth rank magic weapon passed down from generation to generation in my family. It’s called a Gold and Silver Dream Spirit Bell, this Dream Spirit Bell was originally a pair. It’s other half was given to Xi Yue that day in order to get an antidote. Isn’t that so Xi gongzi?”

Hexi nodded her head and smiled, “That’s right.”

Moreover, this Dream Spirit Bell had long since been given to Gu Liufeng’s subordinate, Mei Ru Yan.

“If it weren’t for third brother’s kind character advising me not to use my princess status, I would’ve properly taught him a lesson that day.”

“Now knowing that, even third brother’s kindness didn’t make him feel grateful. Unexpectedly, he even plotted to murder third brother in Sealed Dragon Domain. Wu wu wu… If I had known earlier, I would’ve had the guards capture this youngster. That way, third brother’s life wouldn’t have been harmed.”

After Princess Zhenyue [1] finished, those several guards immediately agreed with her words.

She had taken the conflict between herself, Shangguan Rui, and Hexi and added oil and vinegar [2] to the tale.

When Shangguan Wenji heard the princess, he immediately became angry and sternly said to Hexi, “Do you have anything to say Xi Yue?”

Hexi sneered, “Everything has already been said by you guys, what else can I say?”

“You dare say that my Huang’er and guards are lying?”

Hexi indifferently replied, “More or less!”

Immediately, Shangguan Wenji loudly said, “In other words, from that time on, you harbored bad feelings for my son. So in Sealed Dragon Domain, you seized the chance and murdered him?”

A laugh appeared on Hexi’s face and she looked at Shangguan Wenji with the same gaze she would hold toward an idiot, “Your Majesty, how come I feel you’ve reversed the story?”

“Shangguan Zhenyue said it herself. That day, the people who had been humiliated were herself and the Third Prince. What bad feelings do I have?”

“You’re talking nonsense!!” Hexi’s words sparked anger in Shangguan Zhenyue, causing her to jump forth and defend her words, “It’s clearly you who became jealous after seeing His Highness Hell King and I’s relationship is so good. You even stopped us from going in and meeting Yu gege. Third Brother defended me, so you also began hating him.”

“Little sister, your brain is working fine right?” Hexi couldn’t help but start laughing, “If I recall correctly, before I even arrived at Ming Wang Manor that day, a certain two people had been obstructed by Butler Nan at the door, isn’t that right?”

“You said I resent your and His Highness Hell King’s relationship? What am I jealous of? You guys were blocked outside. You wouldn’t even be able to use the excuse of visiting a sick person in order to get in.”

Hexi’s words were incredibly vulgar and frank, but when the martial artists heard her, they all started lowly laughing.

Zhenyue’s face turned ashen and she pointed a shaking finger at Hexi. However, for the longest time, the only words she could make out was: “You… You…”

At this moment, Feng Lian Ying, who had been sitting beside Feng Yunjing, suddenly stood up and softly said, “Xi gongzi, your cultivation is higher than Zhenyue meimei’s. How can you speak so overbearingly toward her? Don’t tell me that you only know how to bully weak women?”

“Let along to say, I’ve known Yu gege for many years, he once mentioned me to you. You’re nothing more than a lowly doctor’s attendant in Ming Wang Manor. How can your identity compare to Zhenyue gongzhu and the Third Prince’s? How could Ming Wang Manor’s Butler Nan block the Third Prince and gongzhu from entering but allow you?”

As she was speaking, she wore a rebuking expression on her face. Lightly, she said, “Even if you wish to show off slightly and stir up rumors, you shouldn’t slander Ming Wang Manor’s butler in the process.”

ATBPY Chapter 6

Chapter 6 Wei Residence

[3/4] Chapter generously sponsored by Lore~ ♥

If the Teacher of the Nation was held all of Xue Yu’s faith, then Wei Residence was the entirety of Xue Yu’s lucky star.

Who doesn’t know how Wei Residence came to be? Three years ago, hexagonal household coal briquettes began appearing in Xue Yu. By the time everyone began learning about closets and radiators, Wei Residence had already become a household name for all educated individuals. The appearance of coal changed people’s ways of warming themselves up. Rather than using wood, they now used coal, making their lives much easier. No longer did they have to worry about the wood being too damp to be burned, nor did they have to worry about the weather being too cold and inconvenient to go fetch wood. The fact that Wei Residence brought an advantage to Xue Yu was an unignorable fact.

Educated individuals longed for warmth and light, which was exactly what Wei Residence provided for them. However, Wei Residence’s appearance did draw envy from wood dealers. But, hexagonal household coal briquettes’ and fireplace radiators’ manufacturing techniques weren’t known by anyone but Wei Residence’s people. That isn’t to say that there haven’t been dealers in the past who tried to sneak into Wei Residence as a worker and find out how to manufacture these things. However, they only found that Wei Residence’s techniques were all distributed throughout an assembly line. Each employee only knew how to manufacture a specific part of the product. If one wanted to know how to make a hexagonal household coal briquette, they would have to completely clear out Wei Residence’s employees. But, this was an impossible task. In the entirety of Xue Yu, Wei Residence was the only place who paid it’s workers fair wages and treated them equally and honorably. Just based on these two points, nobody in their right mind would give up a job at Wei Residence for another job.

In every place in Xue Yu, even if it was just a small town, had a Wei Residence. The use of hexagonal household coal briquettes had already become generalized throughout Xue Yu, it had even caught on in some bordering countries. Wei Residence’s total value was just too high to even be estimated. Although the price of hexagonal household coal briquettes isn’t expensive, everybody in Xue Yu was purchasing them. Thus, the profits behind them were extensive, making it difficult to estimate Wei Residence’s total profits.

Regarding Wei Residence’s owner, nobody knew who it was. Were they male or female? Old or young? Beautiful or ugly? Tall or short? Nobody knew these things. Thus, guessing the identity of Wei Residence’s owner also became Xue Yu people’s after dinner tea expense. Rumors were just like this. Even an ordinary person would become interesting after rumors were spread. So naturally, there were all sorts of stories floating around.

Rumor had it that Wei Residence’s owner was an old man who spent his entire life researching and studying this neglected and extinct craftsmanship. Others said that the owner was a handsome young man who was the smartest person in the world. Fear of the owner’s identity came from the imperial court to the martial arts world. So much so that even characters from legends had all had rumors spread about them. Naturally, nobody would say Wei Residence’s owner was a woman. That was because women’s position in the world was lowly. Women were perceived as weak. So how could it be possible for a lowly and weak person to create something with as grand an existence as Wei Residence?

Xue Yu’s capital city Lin Lang was located in the heart of Xue Yu. The temperature here was relatively high compared to the average temperature in the rest of Xue Yu. Naturally, it became Xue Yu’s most flourishing region. In Xue Yu, a majority of the buildings were white, circular towers. They were classical yet elegant and had some of the neighboring country to the west’s mysterious aura. The people here loved white, so much so that they held it in esteem, so even their clothes were white colored. In their eyes, white represents purity. It was just like Xue Yu’s snowflakes, it was a gift from the Snow God. But, even though white clothes were very popular, only the wealthy were able to afford them. For the poor, they wore simple clothes made out of animal skins. If their clothes were able to keep them warm, that was already considered pretty good.

But, the appearance of the hexagonal household coal briquette ensured that even the poor had a safeguard against the cold. Although Xue Yu had many trees, not all the trees were dry enough to be burned. As a result, many poor families had to sell the trees they cut in order to make a livelihood for themselves, but this left them with practically no wood left once they earned enough money. Thus, most of the poor froze in Xue Yu’s bitter cold. Now, all the Madams were using hexagonal household coal briquettes and the poor who sold wood were all secretly cared for by Wei Residence. They secretly manufactured hexagonal household coal briquettes whilst giving all of the wood to Wei Residence. In this way, Wei Residence had completely gained control over all of Xue Yu’s power. If Wei Residence ever stopped offering hexagonal household coal briquettes or wood, then the entire Xue Yu would find themselves in a very dangerous situation. If it were any other country, they definitely wouldn’t find themselves in this circumstance. But the energy to warm oneself in Xue Yu was really their weak point. Nobody would’ve guessed that this idea was actually thought up by a little woman and that her way of thinking even included controlling all of Xue Yu. A socioeconomic base that set the superstructure, this was Gu Weiyi’s first idea. As Wei Residence grew larger and larger, their power increased until it was enough to contend against a nation. As long as Wei Residence held all of Xue Yu’s weaknesses, then they would be able to practically control the government. Relying on their power over the economy, they would be able to meddle and control the nation’s politics. She wasn’t scared of Lan Sheng Ling, even if he had already become the emperor of Yin Yue, because of the power to control the nation alongside weapons she had prepared a long time ago. But now wasn’t the right time. She had to slowly seep into Yin Yue and find Yin Yue’s weak point. Afterward, she would cause Lan Sheng Ling to sink into a state of both domestic and foreign messes, then she would defeat him in one move! This plan was still a long way away. She wasn’t anxious, she had a long time to go. Her power still wasn’t enough to sufficiently withstand against Yin Yue. But that day would one day arrive, right?

A large, low-key luxurious white building sat on the outskirts of Lin Lang. This building didn’t attract much attention, but was in fact, the true headquarters of Wei Residence. It’s external appearance was quite similar to Xue Yu, but inside was a completely different world. There were pavilions and kiosks, small bridges, running water, and a multitude of colorful flowers.

If the people of Xue Yu saw this scene, they would certainly believe their Snow God had arrived and given them a miracle. Xue Yu was bitterly cold all year long, it’s weather was very unsuited toward the growth of vegetation apart from Xue Yu’s trees, which had adapted to become resistant to the cold. Let alone to speak of flowers which only grew in Yin Yue, which had four distinct seasons. Forget even talking about running water. Their only source of water was to heat up the snow. This place was definitely a place that nobody in Xue Yu could even imagine in their wildest dreams.

By the side of the lotus flower pond, there was a fiery red clothed woman sitting in a chair. On the floor, there was an excellent piece of animal fur that served as a rug. Steam floated up from around the ponds, making the room extremely warm. In front of the woman was a small table which had a few accounting books alongside a jumble of scripts. Nearby the woman was a large, white tiger who was currently docilely guarding by the woman’s side and using it’s fur to keep her warm.

Letting out a sound, the woman rolled over, looking unwell. Her white jade face looked tired and she looked especially pale. When one looked at her, it was hard not to feel any pity. Her figure was thin and seemed petite, she looked like she was no more than fifteen or sixteen years old. But who would’ve known that this woman was actually turning twenty this year?

After two years of practicing martial arts and three years of owning a business, Gu Weiyi was starting to turn back into the previous her. She gave her all into work and making money. Each day and night she was soaked in accounting books. But this time, she wasn’t continuously complaining about this lifestyle. She now had a goal to strive towards, no longer was she living just to be alive. In this life, she had people she cared for accompanying her, she had a love to guard. No matter what she did, it was a sort of happiness for her.

Xue Yunge and Xue Zhuyue entered into the room. When they saw the woman their heart longed for secretly thumbing through the accounting books again whilst looking extremely tired and sleepy, they couldn’t help but feel distressed in their hearts. Damn her, why did she always have to disobey them? Why did she always have to go and make their hearts hurt? They would rather be busy the whole nights than have her be so tired! A burst of anger filled them. Xue Yunge walked over and brought her into his embrace. Then, he began to summon his internal power in order to give it to her to warm up her cold body. Xue Zhuyue’s face held extreme pain, but he couldn’t find a place to vent his anger. So, he turned around and kicked Cutie. It’s white body was kicked a couple inches away and it let out a whimper.  Xue Zhuyue didn’t seem to care and viciously reprimanded it, “You don’t listen either! Don’t you know Yi Yi’s body is very weak? You still kept it from us that she was this tired?”

Cutie let out a sorrowful whimper and her amber eyes filled with grievances.  Wu wu, whenever it saw Master acting spoilt towards itself and saw Master’s big, black eyes fill with unshed tears, it immediately gave in and would listen to whatever Master told it to do. It completely lacked all ability to resist Master. Wu wu, aren’t you guys the same? You only know to bully me, Cutie, who can’t talk! Wu wu! Only Master cared for it and never bullied it. From now on, it would continue helping Master, heng!

Pitifully, the inner grumbles in her heart were unheard by anyone else. Xue Yunge and Xue Zhuyue carried the slender figure and departed, leaving Cutie behind to miserably lay on the floor. It couldn’t withstand Xue Zhuyue’s strength when he kicked it.

In the piping hot bath, Gu Weiyi felt warm touches being dropped on her body. Her sleepy eyes slowly opened to see two angry and distressed faces staring right back at her drowsy-eyed eyes. This expression caused Gu Weiyi to be startled awake as the last few drops of sleepiness faded away. A fawning smile rested on her porcelain face, “Ge, Yi Yi really missed you.”

When she saw their faces become gloomier, she immediately latched herself onto the closest target–– Xue Yunge. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she flatteringly rubbed him, her overly sweet voice seeming to hold the capabilities of intoxicating others.

Gege, Yi Yi doesn’t know why she missed you so much. You guys only left for a few moments, but how come Yi Yi felt as if you guys had left for a few years? This must be the so-called, not seeing each other for one day feels as if we’ve not seen each other for three autumns. Gege, in the future you guys must accompany Yi Yi more ah. Yi Yi is always at home alone, it’s very lonely…”

One moment she was acting like a spoilt child and the next she was complaining, and her tone gradually turned aggrieved. When Xue Yunge and Xue Zhuyue heard her, they also became softhearted. Their previous anger had disappeared and had been turned into guilt by Gu Weiyi. They really had neglected her. Wei Residence’s vitality alongside other trifles in other aspects. They could be said to be busy from dawn to dusk. But the concern and feelings they felt for her never disappeared. Rather it was just that they strove to complete everything so that they could spend more time with her in the future. Otherwise, how could Wei Residence have grown to it’s size in the small three years it had been operating?

But, over these three years, they’ve begun looking at their treasure in a different light. The Yi Yi they hid in their palms wasn’t some weak woman, rather she was a miracle that filled them with immense pride. She found the coal mine, created the hexagonal household briquettes, and even their exquisite weapons were made by her. Regarding business techniques; she created new, faster ways to keep accounts; advanced administration methods. None of these didn’t surprise them, leaving them stunned. Their Yi Yi was so intelligent, so capable. So much so that even they couldn’t compare with her. They watched her as she talked about business, planned out strategies, and described the blueprint of their future. This type of Yi Yi was so beautiful, it made them feel like they can’t gaze at her. This type of Yi Yi was the real Yi Yi. At this moment, they finally realized how they had shackled her, how it was a sort of humiliation. She should be a phoenix who soared to the highest of the heavens! She should be part of her own type of radiance! Her wanting to become strong wasn’t because she wasn’t to leave them, it was because she didn’t want to be their burden and wanted to protect them. Then what reason did they have to keep her locked in a small room and constantly watch and worry over her? What was theirs was destined to be theirs, so in that case, who would dare to take it away? So, therefore even if they indulged her, they wouldn’t give her up. Didn’t the three of them want to be by each others’ sides for eternity? Guilt and pity flooded onto the two of their beautiful, identical faces. Gu Weiyi secretly looked at their change of expression and her heart loosened. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to rest, it was just that she didn’t want to see them so worn out everyday. They rushed about the entire nation and ran all of Wei Residence’s shops. But soon, they would be able to let out a loose breath. The administration management was going on it’s track, in the future, all they needed to do was look at the yearly reports and effortlessly resolve a few issues.

Softening her body, Gu Weiyi leaned into Xue Yunge’s embrace. To build this building, they had spent an entire year in construction. Underneath the building, there was a large boiler. Everyday, people placed coal and wood inside in order to keep the entire building warm. Thus, their home was warm all year long, so much so that they were even able to grow flowers and trees. Actually, all these flora were grown by Gu Weiyi using a greenhouse method. This experiment was thought up by her one day on accident. Afterward, she experimented for a year and actually succeeded. Presently, she had already constructed a large scale greenhouse. She had specially cultivated all sorts of flowers, fruits and vegetables. In this world that was basically only filled with snow, her treasured greenhouse could earn her a lot of money! Even one pot of Wei Residence’s flowers and plants were worth a thousand gold coins. Even though the lifespan of these flowers and plants was only ten days after leaving the greenhouse, the nobility and high-ranking officials were still willing to buy them and bring them home. They enjoyed watching the plants as it was quite a mysterious object to them. All she had to do was sit at home, at ease, and count her money!

A scorching hot breath by her ear brought Gu Weiyi back to reality. A second later, she felt a quick pinch of pain on her neck before it was soothed. Indeed, Xue Yunge had bitten her neck before licking and kissing it. Xue Zhueyue was equally ruthless and didn’t hold himself back just because he was behind her. He dropped soft and densely packed kisses, causing Gu Weiyi to turn a bright shade of red. An alluring blush instantly colored her white jade cut-like face. Clothes shed off her body and a rose colored blush appeared. Her timid eyes blurred as they watched Xue Yunge’s beautiful features that filled with longing and love. Gu Weiyi didn’t dodge it at all. As early as one year before she had already given herself to them, isn’t that right? “Yi Yi, our Yi Yi.” By her ear, a tender, ambiguous, and low voice trickled into her ears. His beautiful body was faintly discernible in the bath as his slender hands drifted about her exquisite body. He was so intoxicating yet charming and gentle. Gentle kisses dropped on her forehead, then to the corner of her lips, down to her collarbone, and started wandering further down… A couple strands of damp hair clung to their foreheads, making them see wanton and wild. To Gu Weiyi, this was an exceptionally alluring sight. Gu Weiyi stared dumbstruck. Big Brother had always been beautiful, but at this moment, he was even more charming than usual. And the ever cold Xue Zhuyue seemed to have transformed from a water lily to a red spider lily. In his pure, clear eyes, there was red and ignited passion. Her body weakly leaned on Xue Zhuyue’s chest. Completely devoid of strength, she lowly gasped, “Ge.” Her sweet moan further ignited the passion in their hearts. They couldn’t stop themselves from holding and wanting her any longer. They wanted to deeply love her again and again. Gu Weiyi’s confused and blushing face supported their affection-filled gazes. Her long eyelashes faintly fluttered and her wet hair tangled together with theirs, creating a beautiful scene. Between themselves, she didn’t bind her hair (something done in the past when girl’s come of age), what was the need? Their thoughts couldn’t help but trail back to that day where they had been too passionate in their nagging.

One day, when she had gotten angry, she decided to run to a famous brothel in Xue Yu and became a female dancer. There, she performed an erotic dance in front of everyone in the hall. Afterward, she even auctioned her wedding night. This was all in order to undo the hesitation in their hearts and teach them the error in their thinking. If they thought they were too filthy to be with her, then what if she became a prostitute that had been bedded by thousands. Then wouldn’t she be filthy and worthy of accompanying them? Even though it was a moment of impulse, her heart’s opinion was still firm. If they were all filthy, would they no longer continue to stay in this tangled dream? Would they be able to face her again and truly begin their lives together? That day, when she was on the stage, she began to express herself, regardless of everything. Under their attentive and worried gazes, she smiled as she cried. In front of everyone, she began singing a song for them. She opened her heart and stated her worries, what she understood, what she was willing to do, and her love for them.

From the moment your eyes saw me. The mutual understanding in their hands were the guidelines for tomorrow. I love you, I’m willing to allow you to bossily decide the world’s borders. Sometimes, I really don’t get you. But then again, who really even knew themselves? Usually, when two people were close, it was proven through pain. Since you’re overly worried, I’ll allow it.  I love you, let me listen to your worries and fears. I love you, let me kiss your stubborn and bordered heart. I hold all of the love and become the shield against wind and rain. If your dreams become filled with doubt and the future looks unclear, I’ll tightly hug you and transfer courage and energy. We’ll go anywhere and everywhere together whilst looking up at the stars. We’ll walk into the woods together and experience memories together. We’ll experience misunderstandings and jealous together, after all, the sky clears after rain. We’ll understand each other and find meaning together. I love you, I don’t want to not have you. I can’t not have you, not even a little bit

I love you, I really love you. Even though those words were so sacred, so hard to open your mouth and say, I’m willing to open my mouth for you. In front of the world, I want to tell you that I love you. That I want to be with you and walk together until the end to time. So, I want to take everything on with you. I want to be with you and walk through wind and rain. Her singing voice symbolized her shout, it was her desire to protect her love, regardless of anything. Even though she was equally scared and worried, she was going to be brave and open her mouth to pursue her desires. Her song caused everyone to be amazed. To express oneself like so, especially during this time, was nothing more than colorful words in songs. She didn’t care what others thought, she just wanted to open her mouth and tell them what was in her heart. That evening, the auction was quite enthusiastic. She didn’t care nor did she control it. Who it was wasn’t important. What she wanted was them to care and to remain unyielding. She wanted them to truly see her, she didn’t want to continue in this never ending cycle of nagging that never moved forward.

After the auction ended and an old man entered into her room that night, she didn’t feel even a tiny bit scared. Because she was certain they cared for her. This was a hardship she had to bear.  In any case, she wouldn’t give her everything, her purity, and her love be completely given to them (the customers). But why did they always dodge and avoid her? Whilst the old man was kissing her body, she saw the door being forcibly pushed open. She watched as the old man was ruthlessly thrown out and become surrounded in a pool of blood. She watched the two Asura-like figures and smiled to herself. She was so proud of herself! Hadn’t she succeeded? She knew that she was their everything, that she was the most important person to them ah! This time, she wanted to completely penetrate into their heart. She wanted to misunderstand and become jealous together! They would protect each other ah!

Translator Note honestly after this chapter, I have a lot of mixed feelings, toward this novel..

KOH Chapter 506

Chapter 506 First Witness

The person sitting in the second seat on the left was Qixing Palace’s Elder Xia. The person sitting on the second seat on the right was Water Moon Sect’s Elder Han.

Behind these four Nascent Soul stage martial artists, there were also each sect’s respective younger generations. Most of these people were at Gold Core stage with a handful of them even being at Meridians stage. And behind the sects were several representatives of small sects and families of different countries. Most of these people were at the summit of Gold Core stage.

Naturally, apart from the sects and families, there were also other scattered martial artists who had high enough cultivation levels to be invited.

In Jin Ling Country, apart from the Hell King, his highness Nangong Yu, the person with the highest cultivation was merely at the summit of Gold Core stage. There wasn’t even any martial artists at Nascent Soul stage.

So, when Shangguan Wenji faced this group of people, he felt like he was sitting on pins and needles.

But when he met Feng Yunjing’s gaze, he steeled himself and faced Hexi, who was standing beneath him. Raising his voice, he questioned, “Brazen Xi Yue, someone has accused you of killing my prince in Sealed Dragon Domain. Do you recognize the claim?”

Hexi’s reply was concise and consisted of only two characters, “I don’t recognize it!*”

Shangguan Wenji had originally expected to hear this youth defend themself for a long time. Yet who would’ve known that he waited such a long time for just two characters? Furthermore, the one accused didn’t even seem to have the slightest indication to want to expand on their statement.

He suddenly choked and couldn’t get any words out for a long time, “Hai hai (coughing)… Xi Yue, the evidence that you killed someone is already certain. Today, even if you don’t recognize it, you can’t escape punishment.”

Hexi faintly smiled, her expression like a mild cloud and light wind, “Since you say so, please take the evidence out. Don’t blindly argue just because someone else said something.”

“That’s enough!” Shangguan Wenji had been angered by Hexi to the point that his face flashed between purple and red. He was so caught up in his anger that he even forgot his fear toward Shen family. He waved his hand and ordered, “I’ll let you die to understand. Someone come and have Zhen Yue gongzhu (princess) and the guards called over.”

Soon, a beautiful figure dressed in flowery clothes appeared. It was Zhen Yue gongzhu.

Her cultivation was quite low, but right now, she was exactly in the prime of her youth. Her body was maturing into a seductive and well developed women. At this moment, she walked over with tears streaming down her cheeks. Her red eyes and nose were exposed for everyone to see, evoking feelings of pity from the crowd.

Following behind her were a couple of unremarkable guards, most of whom were only at Foundation Establishment stage.

Zhen Yue gongzhu walked up to Shangguan Wenji and performed a proper ceremony before turning to Hexi. Abruptly, she angrily cried out, “How could you be so malicious Xi Yue? My third brother only had a few minor disputes with you. How could you actually murder him in Sealed Dragon Domain? How pitiful of my third brother. His behavior was always so kindhearted and modest, yet he actually died in such a way… Wu wu wu…”

When Shangguan Wenji was reminded of how his son died, bitterness also flashed across his face.

He fiercely cast a glare at Hexi before saying to Zhen Yue gongzhu, “You’re saying that Xi Yue already had conflict with Rui’er? Zhen Yue, you need not hide anything. Completely tell us everything that happened that day.”

With a weeping voice, Zhen Yue gongzhu slowly said, “That day, we originally wanted to go to Ming Wang Manor to call on Yu gege. Who would’ve imagined we would actually come across Xi Yue at his doorway? At the time, we didn’t know who he was. But, even though he was merely at Qi Refining stage, his manner was so arrogant toward third brother. I couldn’t bear it and had a couple words with him.”

“Who would’ve known he would grab onto Hell King’s power and humiliate me? Though third brother is extremely patient, he couldn’t overlook it as Xi Yue’s words put both he and I in an awkward position.”

*Two because she said “不认!”

KOH Chapter 505

Chapter 505 Public Trial

Without waiting for the Ice Lotus Fairy to refute, Hexi’s voice turned cold and she slowly said, “Feng Lian Ying, didn’t you say you had evidence in your hands? Please take out your evidence for everyone to see since you’re so sure that I killed Shangguan Rui. I’m also curious. How exactly did I kill the Third Prince?”

“You think I don’t dare?” Feng Lian Ying shrieked, “Just wait until I bring the evidence out for everyone to see. That way, everyone can see your true colors…”

“Since it’s like this,” Shen Sen suddenly interrupted Feng Lian Ying and heavily said, “Wouldn’t it be better if we let Shangguan Wenji (Jin Ling’s emperor) come and conduct a public trial? What does Feng Lian Ying think?”

Feng Yunjing’s eyes turned gloomy. He turned to Hexi and slowly said, “Xi Yue, you need to clearly think this through. If the public trial finds you guilty, you’ll forever carry the crime of being a murderer. It would be impossible to have the status of a doctor on Miluo Continent after that. If you obediently admit your crime now, perhaps I can plead leniency on your behalf and let you leave Jin Ling Country and practice medicine and saving others elsewhere.

It was common for martial artists to kill others, but as a doctor, if you gained the reputation of killing others with your medicine, then you would be spurned by most martial artists.

Hexi sneered, “I don’t need Young Master Feng’s fake kindness. I’m genuinely curious, how are you guys going to press such a crime on my head? This is something your Feng family is the best at, I don’t know how. Fortunately, I can master it today.”

When Feng Yunjing heard her, his face instantly darkened and the little bit of tenderness left in his eyes instantly vanished and was replaced by coldness. He then coldly scoffed, “Since you want to court death, don’t blame us.”

After warning her, he turned toward Shen Sen and faintly suggested, “Since it’s going to be a public trial, how can just having Shen family and our Feng family be enough? We should call upon people of Qixing Palace, Moon Water Sect’s elders, and the representatives of other large sects here at the hunting competition. Everyone should come over and see the results.”

Seeing the steadiness and determination to win in Feng Yunjing’s eyes, Shen Sen slightly frowned.

Could it be that Feng family really had evidence on hand? If it was truly so, then if Xi Yue was convicted in a public trial in front of the four big families, Xi Yue would truly be unable to free himself and Shen family would also be implicated.

Shen Sen didn’t have time to respond before Shen Qingchuo loudly said, “If it’s a public trial, then so be it! There isn’t a shadow of fear in Xi gongzi’s body. As long as he hasn’t done it, our Shen family will support Xi gongzi to the end!”

Shen Sen immediately felt a headache coming on, but all he could do was helplessly allow the trial to continue.

»»————- ✼ ————-««

The hunting competition was taking place in the afternoon and right now, it was si shi (between 9-11 am). Adding onto that fact was that all the martial artists partaking in the competition had already signed up. So, there was more than enough time to conduct a public trial.

In the temporary imperial residence’s large hall, there were countless high-level martial artists sitting on either side.

Jin Ling’s emperor, Shangguan Wenji was currently sitting in the Dragon Throne. But at this moment, his forehead was dotted with cold sweat and he was nervously shifted on the chair.

He was definitely Jin Ling’s emperor. In front of ordinary people, he was able to command the impressive aura that an emperor should have.

But, Miluo Continent’s martial arts world had more strength than he did. In front of the aristocratic families and large sects, he was unable to find even the courage to speak a few words. Especially the fact that he was currently sitting in front of the biggest and most famous four sects of the martial arts world.

On either side, there was the elders of the those four sects sitting there. Each of the elders were at Nascent Soul stage.

The first elder sitting to his left was Qing Xia Sect’s Shen Sen and the first elder sitting to his right was Liu Lu Sect’s Feng Yunjing.

KOH Chapter 504

Chapter 504 Meddling In Others’ Affairs

Once those words were said, Feng Lian Ying’s face switched from green to white in a flash.

The martial artists crowding around them let out a roar of laughter when they heard what was revealed.

Naturally these martial artists had heard of what happened, but none of them took it seriously, thinking it was someone else who made up a story to frame the Ice Lotus Fairy.

But, now that they heard it directly from Shen Qingchuo’s mouth, they now believed the rumor seventy to eighty percent.

Only because Shen Qingchuo’s face and voice still held the same innocent and shy charm of a child’s. To everyone, it felt like Shen Qingchuo would never speak lies just to slander someone.

“Elder Shen, are you allowing your niece to be a troublemaker in order to stall for time and protect Xi Yue, that murderer?”

A deep voice sounded out, instantly suppressing everyone else’s voices in the hall.

When everyone heard Feng Yunjing coldly say those words, they immediately quieted down out of fear.

Shen Sen sneered and didn’t make any motions to back down, “Young Master Feng keeps repeating how Xi Yue is a murderer, but I’ve yet to see any evidence be taken out. I still say that you’re framing someone!”

After saying so, Shen Sen turned his attention toward Hexi and asked, “Xi Yue, did you kill the Third Prince?”

Hexi unhesitatingly answered, “No.”

Shen Sen peered deeper into her eyes and only saw that they were clear, but he did notice a flash of cold light flashing through them.

She openly welcomed his gaze and didn’t show any motions to shrink back or dodge it.

Shen Sen soon let out a faint smile and clearly said, “I trust you. Since you didn’t do anything I definitely won’t allow others to brazenly accuse you.”

Once Shen Sen’s words were heard, Feng Yunjing’s face became incomparably gloomy. His expression toward Hexi grew even more grave.

He didn’t know how much charm this person had. First, it was in Sealed Dragon Domain where she had Nangong Yu and Gu Liufeng protecting her. Nowadays, at Breaking Spirit Mountain, she had Qing Xia Sect’s Shen family’s people protecting her.

He cast a cold glance at Shen Sen and gloomily said, “When did Shen family’s people begin meddling in other people’s businesses? We’re in Jin Ling Country, furthermore, it was Jin Ling Country’s Third Prince who died. Qing Xia Sect doing so is really exceeding their bounds. Are you not afraid of being laughed at by everyone else?”

“So Young Master Feng also knows it’s Jin Ling Country’s matter.” Shen Sen sarcastically shot back, refusing to yield even an inch, “Since it was someone from Jin Ling Country who died, what relation does it have to Feng family? Young Master Feng is being so overbearing to a Foundation Establishment youngster. It makes me wonder whether or not Feng family harbors bad intentions.”

The expression on Feng Yunjing’s face darkened. H was stuck in a difficult situation.

Shen family’s power was equal to Feng family’s. Feng family and Feng Yunjing were both were unwilling for the two families to fall out just for an insignificant Xi Yue.

He just didn’t understand why the grand Shen family would actually go head to head with Feng family for a single low-level, Foundation Establishment stage martial artist.

At this moment, Feng Lian Ying couldn’t hold herself back anymore. Facing Hexi, she began to sternly reprimand her, “Xi Yue, you’re still acting so shameless? Clearly it’s a sin you committed yourself, yet you actually have the face to allow Shen family’s people and Chuo’er meimei to rush forward for you?”

“If you still have some conscience, quickly admit to your wrongdoings. If not, when the evidence comes out and everyone knows you’re a murderer, you’ll greatly affect Qing Xia Sect’s reputation. Don’t tell me you actually want this outcome?”

Hexi, who had been silent all along, finally raised her head when she heard Feng Lian Ying’s words. Facing her, she offered a smile that wasn’t a smile and said, “O? Who was it exactly who killed Shangguan Rui? I believe that Ice Lotus Fairy and Young Master Feng are the two most familiar with that, no?”
